A Pathologic Observation of Spontaneous Subcutaneous Connective Tissue Tumors in Sprague-Dawley Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
A total of 391 Sprague-Dawley rats were examined to observed the incidence and histopathological characteristics of spontaneous subcutaneous connective tissue tumors pathologically.
The results were as follows:
1. The incidence of subcutaneous connective tissue tumors was 1.53 percent in total, which was consisted of 5 cases of fibromas and I case of lipoma.
2. Histopathologically, 5 fibromas were identified as 4 fibroma durum and 1 myxofibroma.
3. Most of the subcutaneous connective tissue tumors occured in the rats aver 15-month-old.
